JOB SUMMARY:

Urban Legend is seeking a Senior React developer to bring our user-facing technology to the next level. The developer will play a key role in building our influencer-facing platform and mobile app.  

Urban Legend is a tech startup that’s redefining influencer marketing for public affairs and advocacy campaigns. The Urban Legend Exchange is an invite-only platform where advertisers run campaigns that mobilize creators to drive meaningful and measurable actions in support of issues that matter. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architects and implements scalable front-end features and systems that delight our influencers and make their jobs easier
• Collaborates with product team to determine scope of new front-end features
• Ships code often and iteratively, in an Agile environment
• Owns the front end of our influencer marketing products

REQUIREMENTS:

• JavaScript proficiency, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, and ES6
• HTML/CSS proficiency, including layout, styling, and cross-browser compatibility
• Significant professional experience writing modern React apps (hooks, functional components, context, styled components, fragments, destructuring)
• Professional experience using React Native or strong desire to learn
• Professional experience building mobile applications or strong desire to learn
• Experience building and maintaining front-end build processes (webpack, Babel) across environments
• Able to think through complex problems and offer possible solutions
• Professional English proficiency
• Minimum five hours overlap with ET to enable flexible cross-collaboration

NICE-TO-HAVES: 

• Experience with React Native and Expo
• Experience refactoring legacy React into modern best practices
• Experience writing front-end focused tests with (Jest) and integration tests (Cypress)
• Experience optimizing performance
